Once a year, a reporter invites some dear friends over for a fun-filled weekend. Shortly before this year's shindig however, the CIA convinces the journalist that some of these buddies are also Russian operatives; the agency even outfits his home with surveillance equipment. Will he trust his friends and betray his country, or will he uncover the secret agenda behind the operation?

The guests arrive, but they eventually realize what's going on -- and their host's new misgivings. The weekend then takes on a decidedly different tone.

Director Sam Peckinpah had not made a film in five years when he made The Osterman Weekend, which turned out to be his last film; he died of a hear attack in 1984.

Christopher Starr portrayed Steve Tanner and director Peckinpah's daughter Kristen played Tremayne's secretary.

The film is dedicated to the memory of Helmut Dantine!!
