John Wayne. His steely gaze,
square jaw, and rolling gate personify the American
cowboy. He is the standard by which all other western
heroes are measured. A shining icon of heroism and
determination in a landscape of sagebrush and high
chaparral, populated with ruthless bandits, damsels in
distress, and of course, Gabby Hayes. Get set for the kind
of exciting Old West action only the Duke can provide in
these two classic oaters from his early career.
Angel And The Badman
- 1947 - 100
minutes - Black & White - Quirt Evens an all round bad
guy is nursed back to health and sought after by Penelope
Worth a quaker girl. He eventually finds himself having to
choose from his world or the world from which Penelope
lives by.
The Lawless Frontier -
1935
- 59 minutes -
Black & White - When John Tobin
(played by John Wayne) returns home after an absence of
eight years, he teams up with his grandfather against the
man who killed his parents.
The Mild West -
1947 - 6 minutes, 54 seconds - Color - Animated - A silly
comedy about the untamed wild west. Not to be confused
with the show The Wild, Wild West with Robert Conrad as
James West, secret service agent. Still, this cartoon is
just as politically incorrect and tons of fun. Like many
other cartoons from the era, this one contains racial
stereotyping that is often offensive to some viewers. Our
apologies, we present it as a piece of history. Also
features I am an old cowhand sing-a-long.
Picture-Quality varies on the DVD as each film has
experienced the ravages of time!!
