of war as long quiet stretches of talk, punctuated by
sharp, random bursts of violent action whose relevance to
the big picture is often unknown to the soldiers.

Nominations: Best Story and Screenplay.
Yankee Doodle Donkey -

- Animated - Spunky's dream to join the Wags, the almighty
dog army, comes true in this tale of bravery and
persistence. The advancing flea army is attacking a corps
of canine cadets, and the little donkey saves the day by
kicking kegs of flea powder into the battlefield!
