Andy Griffith - The Darlings Are Coming - 1963 - 26 minutes - Black & White - Season 3 - Episode 25 - The classic 1960s family television series starring Andy Griffith on video here features The The Darlings are Coming episode. Originally telecast March 18, 1963, this episode served to introduce the hillbilly Darling family: rambunctious papa Briscoe Darling (Dub Taylor), his wide-eyed daughter Charlene (Maggie Peterson), and his dimwitted but musically talented sons (played by The Dillard Brothers, a popular quartet of country-western performers). Arriving in Mayberry to meet Charlene's sweetheart, Pvt. Dud Wash, at the local depot, the Darlings are overwhelmed by their first taste of city life-and Andy and Barney have a heck of a time trying to control the uninhibited mountaineers.

Dick Van Dyke - Never Name A Duck - 1962 - 25 minutes - Black & White - Season 2 - 1st Episode - The Dick Van Dyke Show, featuring our favorite couple from New Rochelle, New York - Rob and Laura Petrie. Rob brings a pair of baby ducks home and Laura is not happy about it. The theme music was written by Earle Hagen. Mister Van Dyke's wardrobe was furnished by Botany 500.

The Beverly Hillbillies - Back To Californy - 1963 - 25 minutes - Black & White - Season 1 - Episode 13 - This TV show was about a dreadfully poor hillbilly family named the Clampetts who find oil on their property and become rich overnight. They move into a Beverly Hills mansion where everything is strange to them. The show was filmed in black & white for the first three seasons and in color thereafter. The Ballad of Jed Clampett" climbed to #44 on the hit parade chart in the first season (1962). Not bad for a TV show theme song! The Beverly Hillbillies was the #1 show (highest rating) during 1962 & 1963! In this episode Jed Clampett invites Cousin Pearl and Jethro's twin sister Jethrene to visit his Beverly Hills mansion. No sooner has she arrived than Pearl has resumed her feudin' and fussin' with Granny, their argument centering over who should be in charge of the Clampett kitchen. Meanwhile, Jethrene pines over her mountain sweetheart "Jazzbo" Depew (Phil Gordon). Max Baer Jr. is seen as both Jethro and Jethrene, with the latter's voice provided by future Petticoat Junction star Linda Kaye (the daughter of Beverly Hillbillies creator Paul Henning). Back to Californy first aired on January 9, 1963.
